The Best Las Vegas Steakhouses

There are plenty of good restaurants in Las Vegas, whether you’re looking for an intimate dinner for two, or a wild, family buffet. However, Las Vegas steak houses are in a league of their own. Many people flock to the strip to hit up the buffets and quick dining spots, but some view dining in Las Vegas as more of a special culinary experience. Among those individuals, it is common knowledge that there are some incredible restaurants to choose from when looking for a wonderful meal. However, when you’re looking for the best steak in Las Vegas, there is much debate on the best of the best. Is it on the strip or off the strip? In a hotel or standing alone? Do you have to pay top dollar or is the best surprisingly affordable? Here’s the scoop on steakhouses in Las Vegas that will make your mouth water.
Top Steakhouses in Las Vegas
1. T-Bones Chop House. T-Bones ambiance is upscale, yet casual, luxurious, but not stuffy. Walking through the doors reveals a well done restaurant that’s appealing to the eyes, ears, and especially the palate. The aroma of mouth-watering steaks and seafood permeates the area as the friendly staff take you to your table. Dark woods dominate here, and the feeling is private without being secluded. Your options are essentially endless, from 35-day aged bone-in New York steak to juicy rotisserie chicken or braised short ribs, their menu covers the entire gamut that should be expected at a fine steak house. Fortunately, the prices don’t live up to the ambiance or excellence of the food. There’s a reason that T-Bones won the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Top Steakhouse” this year (2011). In my opinion, this is the best steakhouse in Las Vegas. Call for reservations or more information at 702-797-7576.
2. Hank’s Fine Steaks. Located in the beautiful Green Valley Ranch Resort is one of the best steakhouses in Las Vegas. Offering mouth-watering steaks, satisfying seafood, scrumptious sides and a swanky atmosphere, Hank’s has a reputation having some of the best food in Las Vegas. People come here for more than just their delectable steaks. Hank’s cranks out a creamed corn that is simply to-die-for that keeps customers coming back night after night. Just look at their Yelp reviews and it’s quite clear that people swoon over their steaks and sides. The bar opens at 5pm daily with an appetizer menu and they also serve half-priced martinis during happy hour! Happy hour runs from 5 – 7pm, but the main dining room doesn’t open until 5:30 pm. Sound appetizing? Call for reservations at 702-617-7075.
3. MRKT Sea and Land. Looking for a world-class taste with an affordable price? If you happen to venture up into North Las Vegas (or if you just simply live there), then Aliante Station’s MRKT should be on your radar for affordable, but delectable culinary adventures. I’d argue that this restaurant serves up the best combination of Las Vegas steak and seafood, though there are better steakhouses and better seafood places as well. If you’re into wine, however, MRKT is a must-visit, with a list featuring more than 5,000 bottles on 300 labels and 20 different wines by the glass. You’ll find this destination worth the price of cab fair from the Strip, but like I said – it’s a better bet if you’re already in the area. Make reservations at 702-692-7305.
4. The Broiler. Staying on the Strip, but want a steak for less than the cost of your hotel room? Might want to check out The Broiler at Palace Station, which is just a hop, skip and a jump away from Las Vegas Boulevard. Here you’ll find excellent prices married to tasty steaks, like their famous 22-oz bone-in rib eye. This is one of the locals favorite steakhouses in Las Vegas, but most tourists never make it this far, meaning that you won’t have to wait for a table, or pay out-of-towner prices. It’s got everything you’d want to find at a more expensive location, but lacks the additional cost. Try it, you’ll like it! Call 702-221-6678 for reservations.
5. Sonoma Cellar Steakhouse. You’ve probably never heard of it, let alone been here, unless you live in East Las Vegas (read: Henderson), but there’s a reason that the Sonoma Cellar won the Las Vega Review Journal’s award for Best Local Steakhouse in 2006. You’ll find excellently priced cuts of fantastic meat here, alone with great sides and heaping portions, all at a great price. For prime, dry aged, hand cut beef at a fraction of the cost of competing restaurants, Sonoma Cellar offers up one of the best value bets in Las Vegas, but like I said, it’s a drive from the Strip. If you’re willing to make the trek, you won’t regret it. Call 702-547-7777 to make reservations.
6. The Range Steakhouse. This top steakhouse in Las Vegas is located in Harrah’s hotel and opens daily at 5 p.m. Chow down on grilled-to-order steaks of all sizes, from the 8-ounce filet to the 24-ounce porterhouse. Indulge in slow-roasted prime rib, or opt for something from the sea, like salmon or crab! The Range also offers nightly entertainment to amuse you as you eat their food. Unlike most restaurants like it, this Las Vegas steak house doesn’t require reservations, but they are recommended.
7. Boa Steakhouse. With two locations in California, this restaurant isn’t exclusive to the Strip, but it has a loyal following. From their dry aged meats to lobster tail, Boa offers delicious food, but patrons must come ready to spend a pretty penny. Boa is expensive, but both the food and the setting is very luxurious. Boa is open Monday–Thursday from Noon–10:00pm, Friday and Saturday from Noon-11:30pm and Sunday from Noon–10:00 pm.
8. THE Steak House. Circus-Circus serves up family fun and entertainment (sort of), at an incredibly low price, but it also does a decent job on steaks, lamb, chicken and even seafood. It’s worth a trip for families on a budget, but you’re not going to receive anything like you’d find at the other steakhouses mentioned earlier on this list.
9. The Redwood Bar and Grill. This is a great steakhouse with plenty to offer. From steaks to escargot (if you’re into it, you’ll love it here), this steakhouse boasts a varied menu with a lot of choice, at a decent price. The restaurant is family-friendly (meaning you may want to avoid it if you’re looking for a romantic evening out, or a quiet meal), but it’s worth the trip if you’ve got screaming kids to lug around.
10. Ellis Island Brewery. I never thought I’d say it, but “Ellis Island” offers up some decent food. These steaks are incredibly inexpensive, but the quality isn’t what you can find elsewhere on the list. If you’re looking to fill your stomach without emptying your wallet (even if there’s hardly anything it) and you don’t care much what it tastes like, then Ellis Island Brewery is definitely an option you should consider!
